This reclaimed Southern Yellow heart pine was recovered from the southern united states. The yellow pine logs have been under water for over 100 years. The logs became water logged and sank to the bottom of the river. There it was protected from sunlight and oxygen, preserving the logs for decades. After the water logged southern pine logs were recovered and milled the logs were shipped up to Ashland Wi and dried in our kiln's. The width of the recovered yellow pine lumber ranges from 12 inches up to 20 inches wide. The length of the recovered yellow pine is from 8 to 16 feet long. All of the reclaimed yellow pine is 5/4 (five quarter) thick. Reclaimed Southern Yellow pine is of very high quality and of high density. and planed. It is not ruff cut recovered yellow pine. This reclaimed yellow pine is also knot free with some of the grain having an almost quilted figured Maple look. We at Timeless Timber can mill this Southern yellow pine and heart pine. Please note that this pine is nothing like today's pine. The old growth water recovered lumber, flooring and boards are much different. Having tighter growth rings, denser composition and all around higher quality. Recovered lumber is a very Eco friendly alternative to today's methods of cutting lumber.
